Jason arrived home from Panama yesterday. He was supposed to be home Saturday night along with 21 Senior High students and 3 other leaders from our church after being gone since August 19th, but their flight was canceled because of Irene. Thankfully they were able to find a flight to Miami on Monday and then on to Dallas, however, they had to spend the night in the Dallas airport. He is exhausted and trying to catching up on some much needed rest.
We were able to skype with him almost every night he was gone, but it is so great to finally have him home in person.
Attempting to record and hold on to the day-by-day moments of this not so ordinary family of four.

Irene Update
We are back home after losing power for 2 days. I am so thankful that through the weekend nothing other than losing power happened at our house. It was a blessing to be able to stay with John, Susie and Sammy since my in-laws power went out as well. We had a great time all staying together, so it was bittersweet when we had to come home. Sarah did not want our power to be on, she said "I love being with my family". The cousins rocked out a lot and got every toy out that Sammy owns, wrestled with each other, enjoyed ice cream, watched movies and played games. Sarah's new favorite game is Phase 10, which is a card game. Lots of fun!! Susie, Sarah and myself stayed up till midnight each night playing. We had a lot of laughs.

Hurricane Irene
Jason is out of town with our Senior High Youth in Panama on a missions trip. They were supposed to arrive home last night, but their flight was canceled and they won't arrive home until Tuesday morning. Since I did not want to be home alone with the predicted results of the storm, me and the kids packed up and headed to FaFa & Grandma's house. We went to bed around 11 p.m. and woke up at 2:00 a.m. with no power and hearing the wind and rain. We were able to go back to sleep and got up around 9:00 a.m. From inside we did not see to much damage outside, lots of leaves on the ground and a few branches. We have headed over to John & Susie's house (my brother and sister-law) this morning since they have not lost power. The sun is shining and their is a light midst right now. Thank you Lord that it was not as serious as they predicted. Glad we were prepared though and safe. I am going to try and head home later this afternoon to see how our house is and if we have power.

Off for a hike...
Today we took a hike with our best friends Melissa and Cayla on the yellow Dot Trail in Ringwood.
It was a beautiful day. We hiked up to an open spot to have lunch and enjoy the scenery.
Brayden did an amazing job keeping up with us on the hike. He liked finding all the yellow dots for us to follow on the trail. However, on the way down he had a few trips and falls and needed some help going the rest of the way.
Our tired little hiker, fell asleep 5 minutes after we got back on the road. We wore him out.
It was a great day to be outside and with friends. Until the next hike...

My First Post!!
Yes, I have started a blog. Why? Mainly to share those moments in our day to day lives that I want to remember whether BIG or small.Whoever reads it, reads it. I know at least my mother will. :) Thanks mom.
I had for over a year a monthly share site that I put all my pictures on, but it was hard to share family stories and day to day activities. That site fell to the wayside and since then my mom's side of the family has been asking for pictures/updates of all our activities since they don't see us on a day to day basis. So, I was inspired (and encouraged) by my cousin Jessica to start a blog. She has done an amazing job with her's and updates it almost daily. I can't promise daily. I can't promise anything, but here it goes...
