Golfing at Harbour Town...

On Friday afternoon Jason played at Harbour Town Links and I rode in the cart with him.  I have ridden with him twice before, once on our honeymoon in Palm Springs, CA and then at Los Cabos in January 2001.

While walking through the lighthouse museum in the morning we found this comment on the golf course and I was excited to see the course for myself.

It was a fun afternoon. I enjoyed seeing him do something that he loves, golf. I also enjoyed the scenery. The trees and views were so pretty. I took advantage of the time and brought my camera and took lots of pictures of him and the views.

Harbor Town...

Jason and I had the opportunity to take a one week vacation to celebrate our 20 year anniversary. It was just us. The kids stayed with FaFa and Grandma, as well as Uncle John & Aunt Susie. We missed them, but a week away with just the two of us was such a nice treat.

On our trip we went to Hilton Head, South Carolina and Savannah and Sea Island, Georgia. We left on a Thursday morning and flew to Savannah, rented a car and then drove to Hilton Head from there.

Neither of us have ever been to Hilton Head, but I knew I wanted to see the beach and Jason knew he wanted to play golf at Harbour Town Golf Links, which is a PGA Tour course. They had just had the RBC Heritage tournament 3 weeks prior to our arrival. Jason found a studio for us through VRBO where we could stay right in Harbour Town overlooking the marina and the lighthouse, which is right next to the 18th hole of the golf course.

This yacht was docked in the marina. It looks like something out of James Bond.

It was absolutely perfect and we loved everything about it. When you look out at the marina on the right hand side (which isn't in the picture) is a restaurant and shopping area so we didn't have to drive anywhere. We ate a lot of seafood on this trip, starting the first night with surf and turf.

We shared this. I took care of breaking up the crab legs for us.

The weather was gorgeous the entire time we were there except for Monday, Memorial Day but we were driving that day so it wasn't a big deal. I loved the warm sunny days of high 80's We haven't had consistent weather like that here in New Jersey yet, so I soaked it all in. The sunsets were beautiful and with where we stayed it was always right in front of us.

We did drive to the grocery store for a couple of things for breakfast and found a favorite grocery store, Publix. We don't have them in New Jersey. I knew one thing that would be on our list, my all time favorite Publix Pecan Ring. Ahhh, I love it.

Mother's Day...

For Mother's Day our church offered to take a picture of each mom with her family after our morning services. They had different fun props for the families to hold if they wanted. All the families had their pictures e-mailed to them the following week. I think we took 250 family photos throughout our four campuses.

After service we spent the afternoon at Don and Donna's house along with our friends the Sheehans. John, Susie and the boys weren't able to join us as Susie and Sammy weren't feeling good.

My family got me Kari Jobe's Majestic album as a gift, which has constantly been playing on my iPod for the last month. I also got a sweet little flower to plant from Brayden and a card he made himself along with other cards from family celebrating the day.

I love being a mom to my two. So thankful for the job I've been given.

She's Got Talent...

Sarah took part in our "BC Youth's Got Talent" talent show last month. She sang a song that her guitar/voice teacher Shannon Higby put together of "Everybody" by Ingrid Michaelson and "I'm Yours" by Jason Mraz.

Jason and I were of course in the front row cheering her on. She was nervous and had a slight crack in her voice in the beginning, which is all she can remember about the performance, but we think she did AMAZING! Once she got half way through the song I could tell she was relaxed and enjoying herself.

One of Sarah's girlfriends, Gabriella, also sang and played guitar to Britt Nicole's "All This Time". Both of the girls tied for 3rd place. I think the experience was great for her. So proud of her!

Being Thankful...

I couldn't be more thankful or grateful for these two. They make me smile.

However, I can't say I constantly reflect about how thankful I am for these two gifts that the Lord has given Jason and I to love, nurture and take care of. In the day to day busyness of life I can get so caught up in the doing and living that the thought of being thankful slips by. Not only for these two precious gifts, but the many gifts the Lord gives to me day after day. I tend to go from one "to do" to the next, not stopping to just enjoy the moment of the doing, giving, having or loving.

Something I want to work on. To be more intent on being thankful in the day-to-day doing, giving, having, and living. No matter whether good, bad, easy or hard. To be thankful. Praying the Lord will help me.

So today, I take time to give thanks for these two amazing lives. They make my life so much richer.

Still in April...

I am playing catch up here on my blog as these pictures are just odds and ends from April, but wanted to include them some place. Yes, I am a month behind, but still excited to be posting them for my family and for those of you who look at my posts. I don't want to just move on to the here and now, and forget them, they are important moments as frivolous as some of them may be. They make me smile and I hope you smile looking at them.

Cousin Sleepover...

I knew in order for our shopping day to be a successful and enjoyable, Brayden couldn't be with us. At his young age of 6 he already doesn't like shopping unless it is something for him.

Aunt Susie understood and came to our rescue offering to let Brayden sleepover the night before and spend the following day with her and the boys. Brayden was of course thrilled and started counting the "sleeps" until his sleepover.

Susie continued to keep me updated via texts on the boys activity at the sleepover.

"Went to park, grocery store, ate dinner, watched Nut job and had special treat ice cream sandwiches while they watched the movie. PJs are on and getting ready to brush teeth."

 

Susie-"They went to bed around 9:20. Yours is asleep and mine is still up. He is having a hard time."

Amy-"Poor guy. Hope he falls asleep soon."

Susie-"Me too!! I think he is just excited."

Susie -"He gave it up!"
