We arrived at FaFa & Grandma's around 1:30 p.m. on Christmas Day to celebrate with the James family.

Sugar overload, but so good!
From the very beginning of the month celebrating with PaPa and MeMe right through to Christmas Day with FaFa & Grandma we have had a wonderful Christmas. We are so blessed by all that we received and all that we were able to give.
Brayden woke up at 7:07 a.m. to be exact. I wasn't quite ready to be up that early and I knew Jason wasn't either, so I told Brayden to go play in his room for a bit until we were ready to get up. It worked! Up to his room he went, not for long though. I think it was 5 minutes before he was back downstairs.
I was now awake and started thinking about a few things I could get done in the kitchen before the festivities began, so out of bed I got. Hard to believe the day was finally here. Christmas. The day Jesus came to earth in the form of a baby to be our Saviour and King. The greatest gift we would ever receive. Blessed to have accepted it.
We let Jason sleep in until 8:00 a.m. By 8:30 we were all gathered in the living room and ready to begin when Jason got a splinter in his big toe while trying to dust the TV stand. Guess my husband learned his lesson that you don't dust with your bare feet, at least wear a sock. Maybe he learned, I hope he learned. For the next 10 minutes of our Christmas morning I spent trying to get Jason's splinter out. Success, and on with our Christmas.
First we take turns opening our stockings...
Gifts from Santa...Sarah got a ticket stub diary to keep memories of special events she has attended. Brayden got a Room-A-Rang.
Other special memories...

A gift for Daddy and Brayden - Star Wars Angry Birds
After opening all our wonderful presents we enjoyed our traditional breakfast of breakfast casserole, cinnamon rolls and four-fruit punch. Yum!
We enjoyed a quiet morning at home on Christmas Eve and then got ready for our "Celebrate with Family" Bethany church services at 2, 4 and 6 p.m. Each service was an hour long. Jason had to be at all 3 services while the kids and I arrived around 3 p.m. and headed home around 6:30 p.m.
It was a nice afternoon seeing our church family, wishing them all a Merry Christmas and celebrating the reason for it all - Jesus' birthday.
All the James family was at service, so we took the opportunity to take pictures of the cousins and our families.
Sarah, so beautiful and grown up. Brayden, very handsome.

Jason and I had an opportunity to go see the much awaited movie "The Hobbit" last Monday.
We have been waiting for this movie to come out for a while and were big "Lord of the Ring" fans, so we hit the movies while Sarah and Brayden were at school. It was a nice date for us. Jason wanted to see it in 3D so we put on the glasses and sat back for the 2 hour and 40 minute movie.
We loved the movie. It was a little slow to start, but they were setting up the story, introducing characters. The last half was full of action and included Gollum, not my favorite character to watch but he is part of the story.
Jason is ready to go see it again in the high frame rate, whatever that is. I am fine to wait again for DVD. It is a 3 part movie series just like "Lord of the Rings", so the second part will be out next Christmas and I guess the third the Christmas after that. Ugh! I hate waiting that long.
