Monday and Tuesday we didn't do much, which was so wonderful. The kids enjoyed being together and playing inside and outside. Caleb was fun to watch as he is taking steps.
Monday afternoon Christy took us to a local farm where everyday they let kids help feed their baby calves. The fun lasted for just a couple minutes because these baby calves eat fast.
Monday evening they surprised me with a birthday cake. We had celebrated at Olive Garden the night before, but this was more like a birthday cake should be.
Tuesday evening we did head to the movies with my brother-in-law Kyle and Sarah to see Man of Steel. Christy stayed home with the kids and had their own movie night.
On Wednesday we spent our day out and about. We started off at the Fractured Prune donut shop. Christy had heard great reviews about it. Who wouldn't like a hot hand dipped donut with all different kinds of toppings. The donuts were good, but we would stick with more of the plain toppings, some of the chocolate was way to much. I had a warm honey glaze with cinnamon sugar and a maple glaze with sugar, so yummy.
For dinner we met up with my cousins Steve and Megan Root and their little boy Gus, who just turned 1 year old in May. It was so great to meet Gus for the first time and catch up with how their family is doing. Gus is adorable and was such a good boy at dinner.
My brother-in-law, Kyle, is a fan of setting off fireworks and had a few to light up while we visited. We enjoyed a few on Wednesday night and a few on the 4th of July.
Who is this guy? When he wears it I don't know him. :) He loves it. |
