Thankful for Thanksgiving...

I love Thanksgiving for so many reasons and thought I would share a few reasons why.

It's a day to remember and give thanks for all that we have and to the One who has given it to us.

I will give thanks to the Lord because of his righteousness;
I will sing the praises of the name of the Lord Most High.
Psalm 7:17

Praise the Lord.
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
his loves endures forever.
Psalm 106:1

Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love
and his wonderful deeds for mankind.
Psalm 107:8

It's a day I get to spend with 3 of the biggest blessings in my life.

It's a time for celebrating with other followers of Christ what God has done in their life and witnessing their obedience in following after Him by being baptized..
Our Thanksgiving Eve service had 24 youth and adults give testimony of God's goodness.

It's a day where I am thankful for phone calls to my parents and FaceTime on iPhones to see face to face my sister and her family who I miss being able to share the day with.

It's a day spent with family and friends. On this Thanksgiving Jeff, Courtney, Caley and Lawson Bacheller who are long time family friends from Colorado and visiting New York City for the week came over to join us.
John, Jeff and Jason
Evangeline (Todd and Samantha's daughter), who is such a sweetie.
Cousins - Brayden, Sophia & Sammy
More cousins - Stephen & Caleb with their FaFa
Caleb, Christy & Kyle
Lawson enjoying the massage chair.
Uncle Todd and Sammy
Caley and Sam

Caley and Sarah
Donna and Christy

It's a day for enjoying some of my favorite foods and shows.

Monkey Bread has become a tradition for our family to have on Thanksgiving morning. It's amazing!

Along with the monkey bread we sit and watch the BIG parade. We have been twice in person, but nothing like watching it from a warm and cozy couch.

Sweet Potato Casserole. I started making this at least 10 years ago. It's a Kathie Lee Gifford family recipe, that my Mom had found for me. It has become a tradition at the James family Thanksgiving meal. One tray for the meal. One tray for leftovers.

Donna's stuffing, or I should say Grandma James' stuffing that was passed on to Donna. We all love it and can't imagine a Thanksgiving without it. Onions, Celery, Bread Crumbs. How can something so simple be so good? Sarah could just eat this for Thanksgiving and be satisfied.

A new James favorite that Sam brought into our Thanksgiving lives this year was banana chocolate peanut butter pie. We enjoyed it for 3 days straight.

Sam, I believe I speak on behalf of the whole James family and say how grateful we are for you and your pie. You and your pie are invited to Thanksgiving anytime.

This Thanksgiving I was full with a thankful heart and pie. : )
